About Candidate
I am Francis Musyoka Kitetu, a dedicated and goal-oriented individual with a strong background in medical laboratory science. Born in 1990, I am a married male with a deep commitment to my career aspirations in the field of medicine, particularly in the area of antimicrobial resistance and drug discovery research.
My educational journey includes obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Mount Kenya University in the years 2013 to 2017, where I gained a solid foundation in laboratory techniques and medical diagnostics. My academic pursuits continue as I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Medical Microbiology at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, starting from September 2022.
Throughout my career, I have honed a range of personal competencies, including being a team player, demonstrating a strong work ethic by consistently meeting deadlines, and my ability to quickly acquire new skills. I am known for my reliability, maturity, and trustworthiness, making me a dependable professional in any work environment. My effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with a positive attitude, have enabled me to excel in both academic and professional settings.
My professional experience in the medical laboratory field spans several years, where I have worked in various healthcare institutions. Currently, I serve as a Laboratory Technologist at AAR Hospital since June 2021, where I am responsible for a wide range of tasks, including specimen collection, sample analysis, equipment maintenance, and result reporting.
Prior to this, I gained valuable experience as a Laboratory Technologist at Gertrudes Children Hospital and Neema Hospital in Kahawa Sukari from March 2019 to June 2021 and August 2018 to March 2019, respectively. My dedication to the field also led me to work as a locum Laboratory Technologist at Emerald Laboratory in June 2018.
I am not only committed to my professional development but also to contributing to the community. I served as a Board of Management (BOM) teacher at Kiu Secondary School and as a PTA teacher at Kalembwani Primary School. In addition, my involvement as a Board of Management member at Uvunye Primary School since September 2022 underscores my commitment to education and community development.
My passion for antimicrobial and drug discovery research is evident through my academic pursuits and my work as Head of Quality Control and Section Head at AAR Hospital since June 2021. My involvement as an Infection Prevention Control Officer at Gertrude’s Children Hospital Laboratory Department from 2020 to 2021 further highlights my dedication to ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in healthcare settings.
